Love and Other Cards

I have been on a card making binge this last week, trying to finish up a box to get into the mail for OWH.  My current dilemma is that I just can’t seem to close the box.  I have 77 cards, so 3 would make 80, but I can’t just make 3 cards, and so on, and so on……  I think I need to just seal the box and do other things I have been neglecting, such as house cleaning, laundry and so on (again).  So I am an addict.  What can I say.

The first card is made with “Primrose Petals” and “Very Vanilla” card stock.  It seems to be one of my favorites of the new “In Colors” in the Stampin’ Up! line.

First I embossed the background with the “Textured Impressions-Manhattan Flower” embossing folder.  I then used my brayer to ink the raised image with “Primrose Petals” ink.  I then used the brayer with “Staz On Cotton White” ink.

I used a dauber to add a little more white where I wanted the sentiment.  I used a pair of scissors to add the distressed detail to the edges of the embossed layer of the card.  For the rest of the embellishments, I used a (now retired) lace edge punch, a few “Basic Pearls,” and inked the edges of the card with “Primrose Petals” ink.  The stamped image is from the now retired “Well Scripted” stamp set, and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

The second card came as a result of messing up the sentiments on the first card.  To salvage, I cut out the raised images, and inserted dotted velum paper to stamp the sentiment on.  Some of my best cards come as a result of mistakes, and my unwillingness to discard any useful paper!  Card maker’s motto:  “A mistake is merely an opportunity to embellish!”

Love Ewe

This image is not from Stampin’ Up!, but is one of my favorites for a “love you” card for a child, or anyone for that matter.  There are a lot of mothers serving in our military who want kid appropriate cards to send home to their little ones.

I used “Basic Black and Gumball Green,” card stock, the “Elegant Bouquet” embossing folder to add a little texture to the second layer, a “Bitty Banners Framelit” was used for the sentiment, and a black and white checked ribbon was used for the bow.

Time to Wrap it Up!

My buddy Newton signals his need for attention by lying in the middle of my supplies.  If I continue to ignore him, he will flop himself right in the middle of my desk where I am working, making it impossible to work without attaching a little cat hair to my projects!  I should have named him “Visa,” since he is “everywhere I want to be!” Well, time to go and have a little “Newt” time!  Perhaps a little laundry…..  Craft Happy!

Pay attention to me!
