You Amaze Me – OWH Sketch 133

Well, vacation is over and I am back in the paper-crafting groove.  Working on the next box to mail to the heroes.  Today’s sketch challenge is from the OWH Sketch Library, sketch #133.  When I saw this sketch, I immediately saw a use for a stamp set I had not used before.  The card recipe is below the photos.  As always, all supplies listed are currently available at my online Stampin’ Up! store.

Card Stock Used:  Real Red, Whisper White and “Polka Dot Parade,” a new this catalog, Designer Series Paper

Stamp Set and Ink:  “Totally A-maze-ing” (retired) stamp set, “Soft Suede,” and Pewter embossing powder with the heat tool.

Tools:  2.5 inch circle punch, small heart punch and Stampin’ dimensionals.

Christmas in July

This weeks Midweek Throwdown Challenge for Operation Write Home, was to make Christmas Cards.  I was hopeful a Christmas Card or two would make me feel a bit cooler, but alas, not even snowy card stock images are a match for the San Joaquin valley heat!  I used most of the same supplies for both cards, one serious and one fun!  Hope you enjoy!

Card #1 – Fancy Christmas

Supplies used are all Stampin’Up! and are currently available unless otherwise noted, 24/7 at my Online Store.

Very Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler card stock,  Pewter embossing powder with heat tool, Scallop Trim border punch.  I used a piece of silver elastic trim purchased from a local craft store, for the bow.

These products are brand new this year and will be available in the Holiday Catalog effective Aug. 1st:

Joyous Celebrations and Ornament Keepsakes stamp sets, Holiday Ornaments Framelits, and my favorite, the Holiday Frame Textured Impressions embossing folder.

Holiday Frame Christmas

Card #2 – Fun Christmas

Holiday Frame Textured Impressions embossing folder, Labels Framelits die, oval punch, scallop circle punch, Owl Builder Punch, 1 1/4″ circle punch, 3/8″ punch, Scallop Trim border punch.

I used Soft Suede Ink for highlighting and a Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker for the eyes.  I used a small cotton ball from a local craft supply store for the Santa hat.

“Silver Anniversary”

My Cousin asked me to make an anniversary card for a couple that had been married 70 (yes seventy), years.  I don’t know them, but I figured anyone that had been married that long deserved at least a little of my time.

Card Recipe:  Vary Vanilla and Whisper White card stock.  Stamp Sets: “Well Scripted (retired),” “Memorable Moments,” and “Forever With You.”  To embellish,  I used the “Elegant Lines” embossing folder, pewter embossing powder (lots of), and basic pearls.  The labels were cut using “Apothecary Accents Framelets.”  All of these products are from Stampin’ Up!  and are available unless specified as retired.  The background silver ribbon was from a local craft supply store.
