A couple of Stampin’ Up! sets I just had to have for manly cards, “In the Wild” and “On the Fly!” Such great masculine cards. The problem is always just how to complete them.
The buffalo card was completed using paper from Carta Bella, “The Great Outdoors” stack, where I found this 4×3″ piece that made the perfect Indian blanket. The directional image was also cut from one of the papers. I hand stitched the edges of the blanket using linen thread. The background wood paper is from SU. Stamp Sets Used: In the Wild and Thoughtful Banners. Inks: Soft Suede. CS: Crumb Cake and Soft Suede. I used a dotted rectangle framelit from Stamps of Life.
The fishing card was completed using Crumb Cake and Always Artichoke SU CS, and embossing folders. The first card has a dotted rectangle framelit from SOL and was colored using a combination of SU markers and Prismacolor pencils. Stamp Sets Used were “On The Fly (long retired),” and the sentiment was a Paper Pumpkin sentiment from my stash. The background fish paper was from Carta Bella, “The Great Outdoors.”
The second fishing card was completed using The Woodland Embossing Folder from SU, Layering Dies and Stitched Oval Dies from SU. Stamps used were “On the Fly” and “Another Great Year.” The background dotted paper was from Papertry Ink. The furry “fly” and “hook” were embellishments from my stash. I used SU linen thread to wrap.
Hope you enjoy these.
Stamps and Dies Used: The stamps and die cuts are all from Stamps of Life. The squirrel and wagon are from Squirrel2stamp, matching die and matching sentiment set. The sun is “Hello Sunshine” triplits die. The dotted rectangle die is from SOL.
The DSP is from SOL “Amazing Collection”
The white, Crumb Cake, yellows, blue, green and Real Red CS are from SU.
The gingham ribbon is from SOL, the small brads and pearls are from SU. I used a gel pen to highlight the nose and teeth.
Squirrel: The stamp and die set is from Stamps of Life, “squirrel2stamp” and matching die. The flowers were punched with a small SU flower punch and embellished with small pearls. I used a scallop circle punch along with a small heart punch. The pink heart was cut with a framelit die by SU.
Cat: The stamp and die set is from SOL, “cat2stamp,” and matching die. The doily, scallop circle and small heart punch are from SU. The fringe is an unknown source from my stash.
Pun Card: The card was created using a new stamp set from SU called “Birthday Wit.” Below the white sentiment panel, it says “Happy Birthday.” I cut a piece of CS to cover out of white, 3.25 x .75 inches and found a stamp by Fiskars, that fit nicely. The dotted rectangle die is by SOL. The small pearls are from SU.
I used the Grid Circle Die also from Stamps of Life along with DSP “Sweetheart Collection,” to create all three of the cards. Inks used were “Real Red and Tuxedo Black Momento,” from SU. CS used was Real Red and Crumb Cake, by SU. The pink heart paper is also from the “Sweetheart Collection,” DSP pad.
These comical and adorable pooches and sentiments are from Art Impressions, a set called “Doggie Kisses.” The band aid and the pill bottle are from Lawn Fawn.
The dotted framelits on both cards are from Stamps of Life. The card stock on both cards as well as the inks are from Stampin Up! The DSP on the cone card is from SU. The DSP on the weiner card as well as the gingham bow, is from Stamps of Life. The white ball trim is from SU.
Sympathy and Well Wishes Cards
The grid die on these cards is called “The Grid Circle Die” from Stamps of Life. The DSP, CS and all the embellishments are from SU. The “thinking” sentiment is from an old SU set called “Sincere Salutations,” a set I will never part with. The “sympathy” sentiment is from a SU set called “Flourishing Phrases.
General Military Cards
These cards were all made for “Cards For Soldiers Project,” blank cards sent to deployed military members to send home to their families, etc…
These are all from the same SU paper suite. “Wonderful Mother,” is from Well-Scripted, “Just A Note,” is from Flourishing Phrases, “Thinking Of You” is from Sincere Salutations. All of the embellishments, inks and CS are from SU.
This card and several like it were made from a DSP pad from Tim Holtz called “Correspondence.” The CS, inks and embellishments are all from SU.
Any Hero Cards are cards that are signed with a note of thanks from me to “any service member.” Images are from SU.
A Masculine Set
The John Wayne stamp is from Stamper’s Best and the car card stamps are from Tim Holtz, “Roadtrip.”
That catches me up. Hope you enjoy all of the ideas.
These special occasion teen cards were made using the new Stampin’ Up! (2018 SAB catalog), set Epic Celebrations (tennis shoe images and boy card sentiments). The sentiments on the girl shoes came from a variety of stamp sets.
The designer series paper used for the girl shoes is “Playful Palate” from SU (retired) and the boy shoes is from Stamps of Life, except the navy star which was hand stamped.
Card stock used: All Stampin UP – Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, Night of Navy, Real Red, Sweet Sugarplum and Basic Black.
Inks Used: Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, Real Red, Night of Navy, Sweet Sugarplum and Memento Black.
The silver cord was purchased from SU and the fringe was from another source.
